Sailing across the Top End:
If you are sailing across the Top end between Nhulunbuy and Darwin, you do not need a permit just to anchor for an overnight stop.

 

However, if you wish to go ashore anywhere, you must apply to the Land Council for a permit, stating exactly where you wish to visit.
